Installing Your Free SSL Certificate

All hosting accounts at adxhost come with a free SSL certificate powered by AutoSSL (Let’s Encrypt or cPanel SSL). This certificate helps secure your website with HTTPS, which builds visitor trust and improves your SEO.

In most cases, the SSL is installed automatically. If it hasn’t been activated yet, follow the steps below to manually install or force the SSL.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  1. Visit: https://yourdomain.com/cpanel

  2. Log in using your cPanel username and password (you can also access cPanel from your adxhost Client Area under Services → Manage Product → Login to cPanel)

Step 2: Locate the SSL/TLS Status Tool

  1. Scroll down to the Security section

  2. Click on SSL/TLS Status

This tool allows you to manage and view the status of your SSL certificates for all domains and subdomains on your hosting account.

Step 3: Check AutoSSL Status

On the SSL/TLS Status page:

  • You’ll see a list of your domains and subdomains

  • Look for green padlock icons next to each domain, which indicates that the SSL is installed and working

  • If any domains show a red warning or no padlock, they may need to be secured manually

Step 4: Run AutoSSL Manually (If Needed)

  1. Select the checkboxes next to the domains you want to secure

  2. Click the Run AutoSSL button

This will force cPanel to issue and install the free SSL certificate for the selected domains.

Step 5: Verify SSL Installation

Once AutoSSL completes:

  • Visit your website using https://yourdomain.com

  • If everything is installed correctly, you should see a secure padlock in your browser’s address bar

If you still see a warning, clear your browser cache or use an SSL checker tool to confirm the installation.

Additional Tips

  • SSL certificates are automatically renewed every 90 days

  • Ensure your domain is correctly pointed to adxhost servers via DNS, or the certificate will not validate

  • Avoid using “https” in code or plugins until the certificate is confirmed as active

Troubleshooting

If your SSL still isn’t working:

  • Make sure the domain is resolving to adxhost via DNS

  • Try running AutoSSL again after a few minutes

  • Check for redirects or .htaccess conflicts

For additional help, you can always submit a support ticket, and we’ll assist with manual installation or diagnostics.
