Troubleshooting Email Issues

Email problems can be frustrating, but they are usually caused by a few common issues. Whether you’re unable to send, receive, or connect to your adxhost email account, this guide will help you diagnose and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check Your Email Login Credentials

Make sure you’re using the correct:

  • Email address (e.g. yourname@yourdomain.com)

  • Password (case-sensitive)

If you’re unsure or forgot your password, you can reset it from your cPanel:

Email Accounts → Manage → Change Password

Step 2: Verify Incoming and Outgoing Server Settings

These are the correct settings for adxhost email:

Incoming Mail (IMAP – Recommended):

  • Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com

  • Port: 993

  • Encryption: SSL

  • Username: full email address

  • Password: your email password

Outgoing Mail (SMTP):

  • Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com

  • Port: 465

  • Encryption: SSL

  • Authentication: Required

  • Username: full email address

  • Password: your email password

Step 3: Confirm DNS and MX Records

If you recently pointed your domain to a new server or changed hosting providers, DNS propagation may be in progress. Also verify that your MX records are correct:

  • Primary MX record: mail.yourdomain.com

  • Priority: 0 or 10

You can check your domain’s DNS records using online tools like MxToolbox, or by contacting support.

Step 4: Check Email Quotas and Disk Space

If your email or hosting account is full, you won’t be able to send or receive messages.

To check:

  1. Log in to cPanel

  2. Go to Email Accounts

  3. Review your mailbox quota usage

  4. Delete old emails or increase the mailbox size

Step 5: Test Webmail Access

Try logging in to your email through Webmail to isolate the issue:

Visit: https://yourdomain.com/webmail
Enter your email address and password

If Webmail works but your device/email client doesn’t, the issue is likely with your email app’s settings.

Step 6: Email Blocklists and Firewalls

If you’re unable to send emails:

  • Check if your IP address is blacklisted (use sites like mxtoolbox.com)

  • Confirm your internet provider is not blocking SMTP port 465

  • Make sure your firewall or antivirus isn’t interfering with outgoing mail

Step 7: Check Spam or Junk Folder

If emails are not arriving in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder. Some mail services (especially Gmail or Outlook) filter emails aggressively.

Also make sure the sender’s address is not blacklisted.

Step 8: Review Bounceback or Error Messages

If you receive a bounceback email or an error message when sending, read the error carefully. Common issues include:

  • Incorrect recipient address

  • Blocked IP

  • Mailbox full

  • Authentication failure

Include this message when contacting support.

Still Need Help?

If you’re still experiencing problems after checking the above, please:

  • Try accessing your email from a different device or network

  • Gather any error messages or screenshots

  • Submit a support ticket with full details

Our team will investigate and help you resolve the issue quickly.
